Apple Watch watchOS 2 to Get Some Important Updates
In the annual developer’s conference held this week, Apple made some announcements about its latest Apple Watch. According to Apple, there will be some major updates, which will enhance the utility and security features of the gadget. Apple also stated that stealing an Apple Watch will get much harder than before. They said that the new feature named Activation Lock will prove to be the nightmare for the thieves. Aside from this, the watch will also get some of the third-party apps.
The new firmware of the watch, named watchOS 2, will be a free platform upgrade to the existing users of the Apple watches. However, you may also want to know that this watch is only useful if you have the iPhone 5 or a later version. Also, the iPhones should be updated to the iOS 8.2 version. If you don’t have an iPhone you will not be able to use the Apple Watch.
The watchOS 2 firmware update includes the safety mechanism called Activation Lock. With this feature, you can make your watch more secure by preventing it with your Apple ID. If someone gets the hand on your watch, they will not be able to use it or tamper with the data without the password. The new firmware update also features the Nightstand Mode, which will allow you to convert this clock into an alarm clock in the night.
The watch OS 2 update also gives the users the capability to use the loyalty cards and reward points, which are issued while purchasing using Apple Pay.
